Professor Fred Mendelsohn will be retiring from the Directorship of the Howard Florey Institute at the end of 2008. To mark this occasion, a scientific meeting to celebrate Fred's contribution to health and medical research in Australia and internationally will be held at the Howard Florey Institute, University of Melbourne on the 1st and 2nd of December, 2008.

The scientific program will encompass the fields that have attracted Fred's interest and endeavor and will include neuroscience and neurological diseases, cardiovascular regulation in health and disease, and G-protein-coupled receptors. The program of basic and clinical science presentations promises to be an informative and current discussion of the research areas supported by Fred.
